Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
At the Helen R. Walton Children's Enrichment Center, children are our first priority. Our commitment to quality care and education is reflected in all that we do. Since we opened our doors in 1982, our purpose has been to serve families by providing quality care and education for children six weeks of age through pre-kindergarten in a non-profit child development center and preschool. We are a trusted name in the community and the early childhood industry.
Our Services q High Quality Care: We provide Quality Approved early childhood education to children 6 weeks to pre-kindergarten. Our high quality program involves the following important characteristics: ü Low classroom ratios ü Smaller classroom sizes (total children per room) ü Well educated teaching staff with competitive compensation ü Continuous professional development opportunities ü A curriculum specifically designed to meet the unique learning styles of young children ü Collaborative partnerships between parents and teachers, where both are engaged in the child's development q Early Childhood Education Outreach : We currently are engaged in several pilot projects to improve the child care industry across Arkansas including: ü Offering free early childhood education training opportunities to centers across the state (i.e. discipline, quality accreditation, CPR/First Aid) ü Bringing nationally recognized early childhood education speakers annually to NW Arkansas and inviting the child care community free of charge ü Providing secondary education scholarships to child care directors to improve their educational base ü Providing basic orientation job training that covers state minimum licensing requirements ü Mentoring other child care centers on quality accreditation HWCEC is creating partnerships to benefit all children
