Mission Statement

THE PHILOSOPHICAL UNDERPINNING OF THE GROUP HOME IS RESPONSIBLE LIVING IN A COMMUNITY. ALL ASPECTS OF THE GROUP HOME PROGRAM ARE DESIGNED TO MAKE THE INDIVIDUAL CLIENT UNDERSTAND AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITYFOR THEIR ACTIONS AND DECISIONS IN RELATIONSHIP WITH TO THEIR PEERS AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. IN LEARNING TO BECOME INDEPENDENT AND ACQUIRING PRACTICAL LIVING LIFE SKILLS, RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ARRANGE THEIR OWN WORK SCHEDULES, APPOINTMENTS, AND TRANSPORTATION FOR THEMSELVES. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS STAFF IS PREPARED TO ASSIST THEM WITH MAKING THESE ARRANGEMENTS AND TO HELP THEM UNDERSTAND WHEN THEIR PLANS GO WRONG.

Description

CONNECTICUT JUNIOR REPUBLIC IS A GROUP HOME SERVING YOUTH 13 TO 20 YEARS OF AGE. THEY ATTEND LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND ARE BEING PREPARED TO MAKE THE TRANSITION TO LIVING INDEPENDENTLY.
