Mission Statement

St. Vincent Meals on Wheels prepares and delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors and other vulnerable residents across Los Angeles regardless of age, illness, disability, race, religion, or ability to pay.

Established in 1977, St. Vincent Meals on Wheels is the largest privately funded meal program in the country. We provide a lifeline of healthy meals and daily home visits to more than 1,900 homebound seniors and vulnerable adults who cannot shop or cook for themselves; most are living below the poverty level struggling with food insecurity. We serve approximately 1,865 meals per day. In addition to a hot meal, some clients also receive a cold supper. Those who depend on us for everything they eat also receive breakfast. We accommodate special diets (e.g., vegetarian, Renal, etc.) and currently have no waiting list.

The people I dealt with were personable. I volunteered as a driver; I'll definitely do it again.

Staff and volunteers at St.Vincent Meals on Wheels are so dedicated and kind. Delivering warm meals to homebound seniors is such a great way to feel good about doing something good! It's only 3-4 hours to do a route and the seniors I met are truly grateful for their meals and love seeing someone at their door on a daily basis.
