Mission Statement

LCBH believes that all persons have a right to safe, decent, and affordable housing on a non-discrimintory basis. LCBH promotes access to such housing and supports low and moderate-income housholds in Chicago through legal representation, individual and public advocacy, supportive services, education, and innovative programming.

Description

LCBH is an effective voice for the hardworking people who struggle with serious housing issues that threaten their families and our community. LCBH has been fighting for housing justice for low-income tenants in Chicago for more than 25 years, serving approximately 6,000 families and individuals in the last year alone. Throughout the years, LCBH has expanded to provide not only legal assistance, but also social services to our clients, becoming a one-stop full service non-profit. Being able to offer services that help clients through every step of getting their lives back into order, including job assistance, ensures that our services are sustainable and long-lasting.
