Mission Statement

To promote meaningful relationships between young and old, empowering individuals to serve and strengthen one another in a diverse, faith-based, green community.

Description

We are taking a fresh look at the needs and strengths of seniors and young families living in poverty, creating a setting for services that allows residents and community members to help others while being helped. During the past year, we have been assisted by over 300 volunteers, and we are attracting the attention of UW researchers and people in the worlds of affordable housing, community development, social services, retirement planning and long term care.

We are currently working with the city of Madison on plans to develop and fully realize our intergenerational housing concept, including a community building that would allow us to offer on-site day care. We are a truly pioneering effort, excited to be serving the community!
