Houston Farmers Market operates two state certified farmers markets: a Tuesday afternoon market on the Rice University campus and a Saturday morning farmers market at Onion Creek Coffee House in the Heights. Vendors are farmers and producers who grow their wares within a 200 mile radius from the center of the city of Houston. Practically all of the produce is grown using sustainable practices. The meats, eggs and cheeses are produced using humane, hormone free methods and natural feeds. The markets also include some soap makers and other personal care products all produced locally and made of natural ingredients.
