Description

Hackensack Meridian at Home hospice serves patients in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Hospice is a philosophy of care that focuses on the comfort of the patient and not curative treatment. Hospice is care for individuals who are terminally ill with six months or less to live. Volunteers are an important part of the hospice team. Volunteers provide vital services such as companionship and respite by visiting patients and families, providing office and clerical support, helping with bereavement efforts, and complementary therapies such as pet, Reiki, art, or music. Training is provided. Volunteers choose their commitment level and where they intend to volunteer.
