Description

Community Action has been in Westmoreland County since 1980. Westmoreland Community Action still administers social service programs to alleviate and eliminate the conditions of poverty and assist the County's disadvantaged populations. With 28 years of experience, Westmoreland Community Action has learned to meet the changing needs of children, adults and families by setting outcome-based goals and using solid case management in conjunction with supportive service programs.

The agency provides integrated services which compliment the workforce development and welfare systems, address child and family development needs, address mental health needs, create job opportunities, create homeownership opportunities and encourages citizenship and volunteerism. Together, these services benefit more than 6,000 individuals each year.
