Mission Statement

ITNMemphis, an affiliate of the Independent Transportation Network of America (ITNAmerica), mission is to provide a community-based, community supported, economically viable, and consumer-oriented, quality transportation service for seniors and visually impaired adults. As with ITNAmerica, we support sustainable, community-based transportation initiative efforts by leading a national transportation network grounded in research, policy analysis and education.

ITNMemphis, a nonprofit organization that provide rides to our senior community and those visually impaired, with a unique emphasis on excellent customer service, seeks to find volunteers who are 25 years of age and older, willing to provide safe, comfortable, and conveniently accessible transportation to our member community. Volunteers serve on a part-part time basis, at a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 4 hours monthly. Volunteers use their own vehicles and are reimbursed for occupied mileage. What sets us apart from other ride share programs is our drivers provide our member Riders with arm-through-arm, door-to-door service from their home to the car and from the car to their destination. If you are interested in making a difference in peoples’ lives, experience instantaneous gratification and self-fulfilling volunteer opportunity, this is the volunteer match for you. You must have a fairly "decent" driving record of course, are friendly and patient, and excited about making someone’s day. If this sounds like you, please send a short email of your interest to or complete the short questionnaire.
