Father Fred Foundation

Description

The Father Fred Foundation provides food, clothing and financial assistance to families in crisis from the five county Grand Traverse Area. The Foundation is primarily staffed by volunteers. It has just completed a major capital campaign and remodeling to expand capacity and improve the dignity and respect with which it can serve children and families in crisis. Over 2,200 families and 5,300 children were served in fiscal 07. The Foundation does not accept State or Federal funds. It is broadly supported by all sectors of the community, over two thousand individuals, schools, foundations, and businesses. Major fund raisers for the Foundation each year include The Frost Bite Food Drive, The Hibernian Cigar Dinner, The Lucky Leaprechan, HOG motocycle ride, Father Fred Garage Sales,etc. Individuals interested in sponsoring a food drive make a gift or hearing more about volunteer opportunities need to call the Foundation during business hours at 231-947-2055.
