Mission Statement

The Nicaraguan Education Resource Center’s mission is to expand the opportunities for rural Nicaraguans to improve their lives through supporting literacy, gaining access to information, and learning functional and leadership skills.

Description

The Nicaraguan Education Resource Center provides mobile library, tutoring, and scholarship services in addition to youth leadership development. The organization supports projects to expand opportunities for Nicaraguans in the Tola/Rivas area to improve their lives through supporting literacy, gaining access to information and learning functional and leadership skills.

Program Areas:

Nurture a love of reading and learning and promote the value of education in the communities.

Promote academic success and support children in staying in school, graduating, and going to college.

Support our school partners with materials, training, and opportunities to collaborate.

Develop a cadre of capable organizational and community leaders and model successfully working together across sectors and communities.

Empower Nicaraguan professionals in other nonprofit organizations to present educational and community programs.
