The mission of NF Mid-Atlantic is to provide information, education, support and awareness about Neurofibromatosis. Our goals are simple: we want EVERYONE to know about NF and we want to make sure that no one has to deal with this disorder alone if they don’t wish to do so.
Neurofibromatosis Mid-Atlantic is a nonprofit organization founded in 1979 to provide information and support to people with neurofibromatosis (NF), their families and anyone interested in the disorder.
We are dedicated to providing the most reliable, comprehensive, and up-to-date news and information about Neurofibromatosis to those affected by the disorder, medical professionals, caregivers, loved ones, and those with a general interest. NF Mid-Atlantic was founded in 1979 and is the oldest continuous NF chapter in the world. NF Mid-Atlantic provides reliable, complete, and up-to-date information about Neurofibromatosis, we participate and have funded research to seek an effective treatment for all forms of NF, and we were one of the major supports behind the initiation of Camp New Friends, which each summer provides a loving and safe outdoor environment for young people with NF
Our service area started out encompassing Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and North Carolina, but now we have expanded our reach to fulfill the NF support, awareness and education needs of the international community.- See more at: http://www.nfmidatlantic.org/?page_id=184#sthash.vFOq2WFd.dpuf
