Mission Statement

The Round Lake Library was chartered by the New York State Board of Regents as an Association Library in 1900 to provide library services to people living in Round Lake and later amended to include the residents of the Town of Malta. Our mission is to provide library and information services to the people in our chartered service area and to cooperate in interlibrary resources sharing programs of the Southern Adirondack Library System and New York State.

Description

The Round Lake Library was established in 1897 by the Women's Round Lake Improvement Society (WRLIS), a not-for-profit organization comprised of men and women from the community who sponsor activities to improve the village. The group's primary goal is to support and maintain the library. The library celebrated its Centennial in 1997.The library is chartered by the New York State Education Department Board of Regents to serve the Village of Round Lake and the Town of Malta
