The disAbility Resource Center is a Center for Independent Living serving New Hanover and Brunswick Counties in Southeast North Carolina founded in 2007. The dRC provides services free of charge, relying on volunteers, grants & various fund raising events to provide these services at no cost to the consumer. The majority of dRC staff and board members have disabilities similar to those they serve, they can, and do, relate! Cheerful and caring volunteers are there to help you help yourself. More volunteers with disabilities are needed to assist on a first hand, person to person basis. there are 50,000 people in New Hanover County and 30,000 people in Brunswick County with one form or another of a disability. Call, Email, or visit the dRC if you are unwilling to allow a disability to get you down, or keep you out of the the mainstream of our society. dRC especially wants to hear from Caregivers, to help them help others. Don't give up, don't give in, don't give out, get with dRC, NOW
