Mission Statement

CASA-NYC’s mission is to ensure that young people involved in the NYC child welfare system have their needs met and rights protected and that children in foster care are moved quickly into safe, stable, nurturing, and permanent homes - with their families of origin whenever possible.

Description

CASA is a non-profit, child advocacy organization that relies on community volunteers to advocate on behalf of foster children within New York City. CASA's mission has remained constant from the beginning: to help foster care children grow up in safe, permanent and loving homes. Volunteers and professional staff work with social service providers, legal representatives, legislators and judges to move children swiftly out of the foster care system and into families with whom they have the stability and permanence they deserve.
