Mission Statement

West Hawaii Dance Theatre, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, was founded in 1989 by professional dancers with a vision to bring dance of high artistic quality to the Hawaii community. WHDT’s mission is to educate the community in dance and develop, foster and promote dance of high artistic quality by providing classes in avariety of dance disciplines, offering opportunities to learn from professional dancers and performing in a theater setting.

Description

WHDT offers continuing education and performance opportunities in multiple dance disciplines to students ranging in age from three years to adult. Its program features year-round dance academy classes, guest teacher residencies, intensive summer and winter workshops and dance camps, outreach school programs, and public performances at local area venues,including senior centers.
