Kentucky Derby Committee

The Kentucky Derby Party is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter - and we need your help! Join one of our committees to help support this fun event. Opportunities are available to serve leading up to the event and on the day of the event. Kentucky Derby Party May 6, 2023 3:00 - 7:00 pm Ledger, Bentonville Logistics: The logistics committee supports our food and beverage suppliers. They will assist with the day of food/ beverage logistics, making sure all vendors have the items they need to serve their food and make their drinks. This committee will work closely with the committee leads to make sure all the bars are stocked, and the restaurants have all the supplies they need to serve their food. Day of help will be checking on the vendors to see if anything needs to be restocked and help run food/ drinks from the service areas to the floor. Decor/ Party Planning: Do you like to decorate and plan parties? This committee is for you! This committee will work to plan decor, set-up and add in the "fun flare" throughout the venue. This committee will also help put out the post-event goody bags. Auction/ Games: This committee will help solicit and gather high-end silent auction items. This committee also will help with day-of-event game prizes, such as the hat/ bow tie contest, horse racing, and other games that will be executed throughout the afternoon. Volunteers will also assist with answering any silent auction questions, closing the silent auction, checking people out, and making sure the auction and games run smoothly.

Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter is an emergency, residential shelter for children who have suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect. We are available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year for children and teens across Arkansas who need a safe place of healing.
