Mission Statement

Rochester Children's Theatre offers high quality, cultural experiences that entertain while fostering enrichment, communication, positive values and an awareness of literature to as broad and diverse and audience as possible.

Objectives:

*Provide professional, affordable, literature-based productions of the highest quality to Rochester-area families and children of all ages.

*Spark an appreciation for the arts in young people and heighten their cultural awareness for the present and for the future.

*Provide opportunities for children to explore and create a vital relationship with the theatrical arts, which include literary, visual and performing arts.

Description

Rochester Children's Theatre is a professional company of adult actors that ws co-founded in 1991 by its current producing artistic director, Deborah Haber.

In its 17 years, RCT's audience has grown from 4,800 to more than 40,000annually.

RCT has been in residence at Nazareth College Arts Center since 2003.

Rochester Children's Theatre is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization and relies on contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and public agencies.

Programs:

Public performances: at Nazareth College Arts Center.

School Matinee Performances: At Nazareth College Arts Center; curriculum based, attended annually by more than 25,000 students from 70 schools in the nine-county area.

Plays On Tour: to schools in the surrounding Rochester-area; curriculum based, attended by more than 7, 500 children annually.

Tours to Public Venues: across the state.

Theatre Workshops: for student ages 7-15 at Nazareth College Arts Center.
