Mission Statement
USRTA’s mission is to teach, promote, and support the sport of RoTenGo in the United States, thereby promoting fun, healthy living, and wellness among people of all ages, races, and income categories.
Description
The main goal of USRTA is to increase the number of children, youth, and adults who participate in daily physical activity by making the sport of RoTenGo accessible to anyone regardless of economic circumstance. RoTenGo is basically ping pong on the ground. It is a sport that is portable and can be played by individuals of all ages with varying skill levels and can be played both recreationally and competitively. USRTA serves over 2,000 individuals per year at over 17 locations and operates three major programs: Paddles for Change, RoTenGo Warriors, and Sets and the City.
Paddles for Change (PFC) is a youth program that engages youth in the sport of RoTenGo while helping them identify their physical and mental strengths. PFC is implemented through in-school, out-of-school, and after-school programs and camps.
RoTenGo Warriors is a program specifically for wounded warriors, their families, and caregivers in San Antonio. RoTenGo Warriors is a fun, recreational sporting program that is complementary to the several stages of the recovery and rehabilitation process. Activities include classes, clinics, family fun day, and tournaments.
Sets and the City is a co-ed program for adults living and working in the city. Through group classes, we keep participants active while connecting them to new people, neighbors, co-workers, and/or family.
