To promote excellence in child abuse prevention and response in Native American and Alaska Native Communities. To serve as a mentoring organization to promote, serve, and advocate for the protection of all Native children.
Native American Children's Alliance (NACA) is a national, inter-tribal non-profit organization ( 501 (c) 3 ) that was founded in 1999 by a group of professional Native and non-native women whose vision was to help tribal communities take legal action against child abuse offenders. The founders embraced the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) model and believed it could be adapted to Native American communities. It provides training and technical assistance to tribal and urban Indian organizations that want to provide child advocacy services to protect the legal, health and safety of children who have been victims of sexual abuse and severe physical abuse. It's emphasis is on helping communities develop Native specific child-friendly centers and/or mutlidisciplinary teams devoted to serving abuse victims and educating communities on how to end child abuse in their communities.
