Mission Statement
Rescuing abused or unwanted Cocker Spaniels, regardless of age, from kill shelters, providing necessary medical services for them and finding them loving adoptive homes.
Description
Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center, Inc, founded in 1995, and incorporated in 2003, grew out of the need to find adoptive homes for the ever-increasing number of Cocker Spaniels showing up in local kill-shelters and county humane societies. Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is comprised entirely of volunteers that assist in the rescue and placement of Cocker Spaniels (and honorary Cocker Spaniels)throughout the East Coast of the United States and Canada, thanks to the ease and popularity of the internet. Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is different in its approach to rescue than many other breed rescues, in that we accept all Cocker Spaniels into our rescue, regardless of age or medical condition; not just the young and healthy, for we believe all dogs have love to give. CSAC is incorporated in Maryland but has volunteers in Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and all surrounding states. With the recent law changes in Pennsylvania on Breeding For Profit, we are receiving a large number of unwanted puppies and dogs that can no longer breed. We need volunteers for fostering, transporting, adoption shows, fundraising, and many other opportunities. It is truly our goal to be put out of business by there never being another dog in need of rescue.
