A Brush with Kindness helps low-income homeowners by offering exterior home improvements. Volunteer teams work to improve the condition of homes by painting, landscaping and performing minor exterior repairs at minimal costs to homeowners who would be unable to complete home repairs on their own

Founded in 1999, El Dorado County Habitat for Humanity was formed as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International serving El Dorado County. Our mission is to create successful home ownership opportunities for families with limited incomes by building sustainable housing and revitalizing neighborhoods. A Brush with Kindness is a program under the umbrella of Habitat for Humanity. Its purpose is to help low-income homeowners in preserving their homeownership by focusing on exterior home repair services. When basic expenses exceed income month after month, home maintenance is the usual casualty. Years of deferred maintenance can cause a downward spiral of home deterioration and unsafe living conditions.
