Mission Statement

The Green Tacoma Partnership works to engage the Tacoma community in the restoration and maintenance of viable, healthy natural spaces by connecting stewardship groups, providing resources and training, and organizing public outreach.

Description

The Green Tacoma Partnership is a public-private partnership between the City of Tacoma, Metro Parks, Forterra, Tahoma Audubon Society, Puget Creek Restoration Society, citizens, educational organizations, neighborhood groups, non-profits, faith-based organizations, and businesses all working together to sustain a viable healthy network of natural spaces throughout Tacoma.

This coalition has created an Open Space Habitat Plan that maps out a city-wide restoration and management plan for all natural areas within the City of Tacoma.

By partnering with local park restoration groups and building relationships with new Habitat Stewards, the Partnership supports the hands-on restoration of its local green spaces. Restoration work parties take place continually throughout the year and are integral to the restoration of Tacoma's forested parkland and greenbelts.
