Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
To become a center for establishing a new life with dignity for our fellow veterans that have fallen by the way. To provide a transitional residence for formerly homeless veterans who have completed the drug and/or alcohol programs of the Pittsburgh Veterans Administration Health System. To also provide job training, life-skills training, drug and alcohol counseling, and psychological support for the veterans as they reintegrate into our community as valuable productive citizens. We want to help them to help themselves. Now More Than Ever!
Veterans Place is a 501(c)3 private nonprofit organization that was established in 1992 to provide housing and opportunities to veterans. In 2005 we opened Veterans Place Transitional Housing, which houses up to 48 vets who were previously homeless and have gone through a drug/alcohol/mental health program at a VA Hospital. In 2008 we opened the Service Center, which is to provide services such as life skills training, computer training, AA/NA meetings, GED courses, etc.
