Description

To become a volunteer, all you need is a compassionate heart. Our volunteer training will teach you everything you need to know to be a companion for someone during their end-of-life journey. You’ll learn valuable skills in grief counseling, spiritual and emotional support, and end-of-life care.

I have never felt more appreciated and needed. Sometimes as a volunteer, you feel a little like an outsider. That is not the case with Heartland. The volunteer coordinator, Pat, is amazing and would drop anything to be there if you need her. This has been a very good experience and I plan to continue volunteering with Heartland.
