Our Friendly Visitors are vital to fulfilling the needs of our patients at the end of life. Our volunteers serve a critical role on our team providing patients & families comfort, relief & joy during one of the darkest moments in their lives-offer respite, errand relief, companionship, play music/games, read & help in other meaningful ways. Pet Therapy Volunteer Our therapy pet program is vital to fulfilling the needs of our patients at the end of life. Certified therapy pets & owners will bring joy and comfort to patients at the end of life. Therapy pets offer hospice patients comfort, bring back memories, encourage activity and provide unconditional love. Therapy pets and their owners will fulfill needs of patients in their homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Volunteers pick the service locations and number of patients they would like to be assigned to. Flexible scheduling. _______________ We proudly serve 11 southern IL counties. Volunteers serve patients in their homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities in the following Southern IL Counties: Bond, Clinton, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, Randolph, Sangamon, St. Clair, Washington. First step, please email or call to step up a time to meet our Volunteer Coordinator. There is an application process that includes a background check, two references as well as a two-step TB test. All are free of charge for the volunteer and required before meeting with patients. Once completed, volunteers can pick how many patients/families they would like to assist, hours/days they can help and the service area in which the patients are located.

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of hospice patients without going out to nursing facilities or patient's homes? At ProMedica/Heartland Hospice we have a variety of office opportunities that include reception, clerical, volunteer recruitment, mailing preparation and group projects. We proudly serve 11 southern IL counties. Our Southern IL regional office is located in Fairview Heights, IL right off the highway and close to public transportation. First step, please email or call to step up a time to meet our Volunteer Coordinators. There is an application process that includes a background check and two references. Once completed, volunteers can pick the day and amount of hours they would like to volunteer.
