To encourage students to pursue opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) by identifying, developing, delivering and supporting STEM initiatives for communities in the Schoharie and Mohawk regions.

Description

The volunteer position supports the Schoharie Mohawk Initiative for Science and Technology (SMIST) science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs for children in the Schoharie and Mohawk regions throughout the year. Programs we offer seek to increase interest in STEM and help children develop skills that would benefit their future. Volunteers will serve as roles models as they interact with small groups of students. Volunteers will answer questions, offer guidance, and empower the participants throughout the program.
