Companion Pets in Crisis "CPiC" in based in Phoenix Az who partners with Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Scottsdale and Tempe fire departments along with the American Red Cross Grand Canyon Chapter, provides families with pets emergency assistance when they have become a victim of a residential fire. "CPiC" was established in 2016 with one goal in mind: Keeping Pets and Their Families Together in Times of Crisis. When a disaster or tragedy happens and companion pets are involved, "CPiC" is requested to respond to assist the pets in crisis. CPiC assists owners when they become displaced from their home by disaster or a death of a loved one. Once the CPiC Emergency Response team is dispatched we deploy an emergency response team immediately to the incident to provide assistance including resources, food and pet supplies for the pets who are displaced from their home.. CPiC is becoming more in demand and the need for more help has significantly increased this year. CPiC is the ONLY boots on the ground organization that provides this type of service in the country. Qualification -Must have a heart willing to help people and their pets in a crisis situation. First responder experience a plus Excellent communication skills and legible penmanship. Able to provide compassion and empathy to those in an emotional crisis. Professionalism working with first responders (Fire, Police and Red Cross). Have reliable and insured vehicle with room to carry supplies if needed. Cell phone. Able to handle stressful situations in a calm manner. Animal handling experience - preferable from animal shelter (must be able to read animals body language). Able to lift up to 30 lbs. Able to walk, stand, scoop, bend and withstand outdoor elements: heat, rain, cold, for long periods of time. Comfortable working in hazardous environments with proper PPE. Quick and creative problem solving. Flexible schedule availability. Able to deploy on a moment's notice with "CPiC" supplies and gear throughout the valley. Able to commit to one 11 hour On Call shifts a week. Passion for animal welfare and a strong commitment to helping animals in need. Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques. Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines provided by CPIC. Job Description Deploy to disaster or crisis scene - meeting your assigned partner on scene. Assess immediate needs - making sure pets are safe and secured - Providing immediate needs such as leashes, collars, crates, bowls food/water assess for injuries. Being an advocate and voice for the pets on scene. Willing to help in other non emergency response needs while on shift: such as dropping off supplies, picking up donations, making comfort bags, buddy kits, attending pop up events. On Call Shift Being 100% Committed , our community and first responders rely on "CPiC" as their ONLY resource to help with the animals. Must be available by phone while on shift. Able to deploy within 20 minutes of deployment request. Must have a cell phone on you at ALL Times while on shift, text messages will come through. Have CPiC supplies and gear ready to go. Vehicle gassed up ready to respond. Be willing to help in other ways as needed while on call.

CPIC is a non-profit organization that provides 9-1-1 emergency response to assist and support companion pets in crisis, such as those affected by residential fires, loss of life, or other emergencies. We also recently launched a First Responder Therapy Dog Program focused on providing trained therapy dogs to support first responders in managing stress and trauma. Requirements: Passion for animals and supporting first responders, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Availability to volunteer on a flexible schedule, based on your availability. Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with potential sponsors. Knowledge of sponsorship strategies and experience in developing sponsorship packages (preferred but not required). Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating compelling sponsorship proposals and materials. Ability to effectively manage relationships with sponsors, including providing regular updates and expressing appreciation. Familiarity with corporate social responsibility and a passion for aligning businesses with meaningful causes (preferred but not required). Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Familiarity with fundraising strategies and grant writing (preferred but not required). Previous volunteer experience or involvement in nonprofit organizations (preferred but not required). We are currently seeking a compassionate individual to join us as Animal Placement Coordinators, playing a vital role in our mission. Our organization works closely with first responders as we are the only boots on the ground organization first responders rely on to assist companion pets in crisis. Volunteer Role and Responsibilities: As an Animal Placement Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the placement of companion animals into temporary foster homes or into one of our partnered rescues. Your primary duties will include: Assessing Animal Needs: Working closely with the organization's staff and other involved parties to gather information about animals in the crisis situation and their specific needs, including medical conditions, behavioral issues, and socialization requirements. Matching Animals and Rescues: Evaluating potential foster homes or rescues to determine compatibility based on the animal's needs. Arranging Foster or Rescues: Collaborating with foster or rescue to arrange for the safe transfer of animals, ensuring all necessary paperwork, such as surrender form signed if applied. Providing Support and Guidance: Offering guidance and support to the family surrendering the pet(s) or rescue taking the animals. Answering any questions they may have. Posting, monitoring and reply to any social media post regarding the pet. Qualifications and Skills: Genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to promoting responsible pet ownership. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with volunteers, and animal rescue organizations. Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple placements simultaneously. Attention to detail and accuracy when coordinating logistics. Knowledge of animal behavior, basic training techniques, and common health issues is a plus. Ability to remain calm and composed in potentially emotional or challenging situations. Reliable access to a computer and the internet for remote communication and coordination. Knowledge of posting and relying on social media outlet (Facebook) Time Commitment: We understand that volunteers have varying schedules and availability. As an Animal Placement Coordinator, you will have the flexibility to contribute according to your time constraints. However, we do ask for a commitment of at least 5-10 hours when the situation arises to find an outlet for a surrendered pet, which includes responding to inquiries, coordinating placements, and conducting research. This will be done mostly over social media. Which will require monitoring the post and answering any questions..
