The Northern Foundation's mission is to increase, manage and distribute resources for the benefit of the students, the College and community.

Description

The Northern Foundation's mission is to increase, manage and distribute resources for the benefit of the students, the College and community and "to provide adequate organizational and support services to meet students' needs and to maintain integrity and quality in its educational offerings." Over the course of 20 years, the Foundation's Scholarship Endowment Funds have grown to over $3M. Northern Foundation has granted $1.2M in scholarships to over 1,200 students. The endowments ensure access to higher education for students from throughout northern New Mexico and beyond. The majority of our students balance work, school and family, and scholarship support can keep students focused on completion of their education.

The Northern Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation exists to promote and further the interests, objectives and purposes of the College; to seek and receive gifts, legacies and grants of money or other tangible assets; to administer such for the benefit of the College; and to provide active leadership, direction and expertise in fund raising efforts for the College. Some major stakeholders are the Board of Directors. These board members are members of tribal communities, local businesses, and community groups interested in furthering educational opportunities for the region. Northern's President serves as an ex-officio member on the Board.
