Mission Statement
Nativity Mission Center is a community of students and families, graduates, teachers and administrators, board members and supporters, founded in the Jesuit tradition, and committed to providing a new birth of hope for economically deprived young people on Manhattan's Lower East Side.
Description
For more than 37 years, Nativity Mission Center and School has provided a comprehensive education for boys from low-income families on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Rooted in the rich Jesuit tradition of "educating the whole person," Nativity integrates a rigorous middle school curriculum with after-school, summer, and graduate support programs that challenge students to grow not only intellectually but also socially, morally and spiritually.
Nativity Mission Center capitalizes on the adolescent years to build strong educational foundation and to create a structure of encouragement and support. Our comprehensive approach is tailored to meet the individual needs and abilities of each student, providing high quality alternatives to the pressures of drugs and violence that fill the streets of their impoverished neighborhoods.
