Mission Statement
Our Vision: To be remembered by each patient as providing the care and compassion we want for our families and ourselves.
Description
Palmetto Health Richland's Volunteer Auxiliary has a long standing tradition of providing the best quality care for our patients, as well as support for our staff.
Volunteers can serve in one of three different ways. Auxiliary volunteers are the heart of the hospital, and serve often as the first point of contact for patients and their families as they are coming into the hospital. Personal Touch volunteers serve patients directly, by providing world-class non-clinical care. Such care includes hands-on assistance like helping patients walk, eat or bathe. Sometimes it means offering emotional support by listening, reading, holding a hand or just being present. HELP volunteers are Personal Touch trained volunteers who specialize with our elderly patients, and provide companionship as well as grief support.
We ask for a commitment of time for a calendar year, with one shift each week for a single three or four hour block. This time commitment ensures that we provide consistent, quality care for our patients.
