We are a Christ-centered 501(c)3 organization with a strong financial base made of versatile donors and a state-of-the-art facility, providing an oasis for the differently-enabled individuals and their families, offering Christ-centered hope by providing help in the form of tools, respite, resources and education to achieve healthy relationships and life outlook.

Description

EmPowering will promote excellence in the "differently-enabled" individuals and their families with four cornerstones:

1. Sharing the Gospel message through Emily Shanahan's motivational speaking and writing:

Emily's life verse: John 9:1-3 NIV

2. Establish Personal Achievement Councils or PAC's:

The PAC's goal will be to provide a "road map" for families in the following areas

Learn to advocate as a team with love and grace. Invite the local church to engage in practical ways of serving families--with healthy boundaries and a partnership established by the PAC.

3. Obtain, create or adapt existing with the Durable Medical Equipment Showroom:

The DME showroom will have pediatric to adult size bath chairs, commode chairs, ceiling and floor lift systems and slings, standers, therapy equipment and wheelchairs.

4. Harriet's Hospitality House:

This respite house will be a place to stay while we mentor and equip the family with the needed road map and tools for life back home. Local families may also come and stay for free that are simply in need of respite.
