Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The Army Corps of Engineers is the steward of the lands and waters at Corps water resources projects. Its Natural Resource Management Mission is to manage and conserve those natural resources, consistent with ecosystem management principles, while providing quality public outdoor recreation experiences to serve the needs of present and future generations.
We have various programs, activities and accomplishments. We manage our public lands consistant with the best natural resource management practices. We observe and manage over 12 Bald Eagle Nest, several osprey nest, and also work to remove many invasive species from Jordan Lake and the land around it. Since Jordan Lake is the primary source of drinking water for Chatham County and communities down stream, it is also important to us to keep this water source clean.
