To provide a safe and healthy environment in Little Rock Parks by recruiting and training volunteer park rangers to act as ambassadors of the city resulting in the improvement of the park experience for visitors and citizens.
With limited resources, Little Rock Parks and Recreation oversees and maintains in excess of 6100 developed and undeveloped acres of land which all have different and unique needs. Volunteer Park Rangers help fulfill a great calling by acting as ambassadors, stewards and protectors of our parks.
In order to be certified as a Volunteer Park Ranger, one must fill out an application and pass a background check. Next, the applicant will attend and pass three training sessions: 1) CPR certification 2) non-confrontational tactics 3) flora and fauna identification.
When you are ready to be a Volunteer Park Ranger, we are ready for you!
