Mission Statement
Dedicated to the production and distribution of independent documentary film and video about people and culture from around the world.
Description
Founded in 1968 by a group of filmmaking anthropologists for the purposes of producing films about people and cultures primarily for classroom use. The intention was then and is now, to increase awareness, understanding and tolerance of cultures different than your own. We currently support the work of young filmmakers by administering grants, providing fiscal sponsorship, conducting workshops in digital editing, teach documentary video programs for disadvantaged teens and maintain a stock footage archive of historically significant material. Our primary source of revenue comes from the distribution of our programs to the educational market.
