The purpose of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady is to promote the social, educational, health, leadership, and character development of boys and girls during critical periods of their growth.

Today- We serve more than 8000 different children in 5 Clubhouses, 4 Boys & Girls Club extensions, 7 after-school programs, Summer Camp and Mentoring Programs.
Child's Perspective-I walk into the club...after I do my homework, I know I can do Tae Kwan Do, play in the gym, shoot hoops, play computer games, do arts & crafts, or participate in special events like traveling museum, bicycle workshop, photography lessons and many more. Once a week I spend time with my mentor doing very fun activities like cooking, taking pictures, making cards, playing board games, playing violin and even doing science experiments! I also go swimming sometimes. During the summer I attended Camp Lovejoy. I have adult and young friends--they listen to me, play with me, tell me cool stuff, help me when I ask them. I have a great time and dinner at the club and then I go home! Tomorrow-While our achievements are extensive, we are committed to continually expanding our services to reach more children. With the help of all the individuals, corporations, and foundations who share our beliefs in the potential of all boys and girls, regardless of their circumstances, we look to the future with great optimism.
