Mission Statement

We are a 501(c)(3) focused on finding and nurturing what our differently-abled students and workers can do rather than what they can’t. We are an organization that values everyone’s contributions, without regard to financial, intellectual or physical capabilities.

Description

Ability 2 Work is a unique non-profit that trains and employs the developmentaly disabled. We operate Grateful Bites, a NJ Top 20 Restaurant and Bakery, where our differently-abled apprentices are taught job and life skills while making the five star food our cafe is known for. Our Apprentices are involved in every aspect of our operations, for back of house, to front of house, from cleaning, to cooking, to serving customers.

We have a multitude of things going on at all times, so there are a multitude of jobs for volunteers. From normal restaurant operations like dishwashing, food prep, general cleaning, and customer service, to supporting events, special promotions and projects, community outreach, working with our apprentices, and more, there is something for nearly everyone at Grateful Bites and Ability 2 Work
