Kids Against Hunger of Des Moines packages nutritious food to help impoverished children around the world. Kids Against Hunger packages a rice-soy casserole fortified with 21 essential vitamins and 9 minerals, dehydrated vegetables, and chicken flavoring. This protein and nutrient rich formula reverses the starvation process and improves physical health as well as the child's mental capacity to learn. Each bag contains six servings and is prepared in less than twenty minutes by adding it to boiling water. Every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, from 10:00am to 12:00pm a packaging session takes place at Holmes Automotive Group. The Des Moines satellite is mobilizing the local community to help with food packaging, fundraising, and delivery of meals. Because of our volunteer-driven effort, we are able to produce each serving for only 25 cents.
