Mission Statement

To impact the lives of young people in and around Santa Fe County by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.

Description

In 1997, the World Golf Foundation created The First Tee to introduce young people of all backgrounds to the game of golf and its inherently positive values, from respect to integrity to individual responsibility and sportsmanship. Today, The First Tee is recognized as one of the premier youth character-education programs in the country.

What makes The First Tee of Santa Fe effective in building positive character traits in young people is The First Tee Life Skills Experience, a curriculum developed by experts in the field of positive youth development and delivered by trained coaches. The First Tee of Santa Fe Life Skills Education Program teaches participants a set of life skills which allow them to face challenges at home, school and at play in a constructive manner. Our goal is for our kids to internalize the Nine Core Values which are at the heart of The First Tee Mission.
