The Star Boutique, Inc. is a charity-driven, pop-up shop that provides clothing, shoes, accessories, makeovers and mentorship to underprivileged, teen girls who are affected by homelessness in New York City. Looking beyond the physical attire that the Boutique provides, our primary mission is to promote confidence, empowerment and sisterhood. The Star Boutique, Inc. is a transformative space that allows girls to shine through their circumstances.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Star Boutique, Inc. serves young ladies ages 13 through 18. Our participants come from partner community organizations, housing shelters and schools in New York City. Star Boutique participants include teenage mothers, teens living in shelters, LGBT youth and those who are impacted by physical and emotional abuse as well as low self-esteem and depression. In addition to our Boutique Sessions, we have quarterly "Star Saturday Sessions." Star Saturday is the youth development componet of The Star Boutique where through workshops, group mentorship and the arts, we support our participants in truly transforming the way that they view themselves. The goal is to equip them with the tools and resources needed for a successful future.
