Description

Safari Joe’s is a 200 acre exotic wildlife rescue sanctuary 4.5 miles north of Adair, Oklahoma on highway 69. The business is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Mr. Joe Estes, aka Safari Joe, is President of the Corporation and has been operating the rescue sanctuary for over 15 years. His experience with exotic wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, and his passion in saving and caring for abandoned, abused, and neglected wildlife is his primary motivation for establishing and operating the rescue sanctuary. His focus originally was on large cats (tigers, leopards, lions) and over the years has spread to numerous other mammals, reptiles, and birds. The primary purpose of the events is so Safari Joe has an opportunity to interact with children. He uses the animals to teach the kids what animals make better pets and the proper care that it takes for those animals. Children and adults learn where the animals are from, what they eat and why some may and may not be good pets. Thousands of children see the animals through these educational animal programs. They bring an excitement, joy, and interest that only the animals can provide.
