Mission Statement
Our mission is to improve the lives and promote the humane care and acceptance of feral cats throughout Berkshire County and beyond. Through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) the population of feral cats will become stabilized, with healthy cats and a zero reproductive rate. Through advocacy, education and action, we raise awareness and inspire activism among citizens, animal care professionals, local government and the business community.
Description
Animal D.R.E.A.M.S.(Dignified Rescues, Education, Advocacy, Medical Services) is the only organization in Berkshire County helping cats that live directly on the streets or in the wild. We work specifically with cats that are too frightened to be handled. By going to the locations where the cats are, we are able to humanely trap them prior to their veterinary appointments for health check, spay-neuter, vaccinations, etc. We go into the community with our educational programs, train volunteers in the humane care and trapping of feral cats, and create a community system of support for these forgotten felines. Advocacy and Education are important components of our mission. Community outreach is critical to the success of our mission.
