Description

Since July 1985, Hill Country Family Services’ (HCFS) clients have represented the entirety of our community: families, young adults, seniors, veterans, homeless, immigrants, college educated, those in financial crisis, individuals with debilitating illnesses, and the unemployed. HCFS provides counseling, food, clothing and emergency financial support to assist Kendall County’s families in crisis. With 9 staff and 60+ weekly volunteers, HCFS averaged 1,038 unique individuals served each month for a total of 12,453 in 2015. HCFS boasted an increase of 197% unique monthly clients served from Jan to Nov 2015 due to aggressive community outreach and strategic partnering. HCFS has undertaken a long-term initiative to focus on merging mental, physical and financial wellness, which ties together nutrition, medicine, physical exercise, finances, counseling, and case management. Hill Country Family Services is aiming to set the standard for wholly addressing hunger and poverty in Texas.
