At Bristol, our volunteers are an integral part of hospice care. Whether it's providing companionship to a person in the final months and weeks of life, offering support to family members and caregivers, or helping with community outreach, the contributions of volunteers are essential to the important work provided by our hospice team. Some examples of typical volunteer duties include: providing companionship to a patient and their family, being a comforting and supportive presence, offering respite time for the patient's caregivers, running errands, or doing light housekeeping for the patient and family. We ask for a commitment of at least 1 hour per week, during which you will be paired with the same patient. This consistency helps to form a meaningful relationship and provides the patient with compassionate, ongoing support during this important time in their life. Because this role involves one-on-one interaction with patients, volunteers are required to complete online training, a background check, a TB test, and an application. While these steps ensure quality care and safety, the rewards are truly invaluable. By volunteering with hospice, you not only provide comfort and companionship to those in need but also gain personal growth, profound gratitude, and the fulfillment that comes from knowing you've made a lasting difference in someone’s life. Every hospice relies on volunteer support to provide excellent end-of-life care to each patient and family, and your contribution could be life-changing. We contract with facilities all over from Ogden to Payson and all over the valley.
