Mission Statement

PanLex is a nonprofit whose mission is to overcome language barriers to human rights, information, and opportunities. We believe that nobody should have their rights restricted because of the language they speak.

Description

PanLex is a project of The Long Now Foundation. Our small team of specialists, with volunteer helpers, searches the world for bilingual and multilingual dictionaries and other sources of translations of words. Then we document the translations we find in a massive database and make the data available to the public.
