Mission Statement
Monroe County Medical Reserve Corps seeks to improve the health and safety of the people of Monroe County by collaborating with local organizations, recruiting volunteers and providing trainings in order to assist in public health education, emergency preparedness, and support during times of disaster.
Description
The Medical Reserve Corps is a national network of volunteers, organized locally, to improve the health and safety of their communities. This includes medical and non-medical persons over the age of 18. MRC units are a community based way to organize volunteers who are called upon during times of disaster. During times of peace volunteers can participate in public health activities to build community resiliency. We need volunteers of ALL backgrounds and skill levels. Possible volunteer roles include traffic control, patient care, paperwork collection, staff coordination, triage, IT support, and more.
