Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring professionally supported, one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. For more than 40 years, our agency has provided carefully screened, trained volunteer mentors to our community’s most at-risk youth, breaking cycles of poverty, drugs and violence.

Description

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Bay helps children realize their potential and build their futures. We inspire children to achieve and strengthen our community through volunteer activism. And we couldn’t do any of it without you-our valued donors, volunteers and community partners. One of the most important factors in a child’s success is a positive adult role model. Our professional counselors support the volunteer, child and the child’s family throughout the relationship. This long-term commitment is unique to our program and is what makes our program so powerful. We are accountable for each child in our program achieving: Educational success, avoidance of risky behaviors, higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships.
