Mission Statement

Capital Interfaith Hospitality Network serves as an emergency shelter program for homeless families. Our goal is to respond to families' immediate needs in a nurturing and safe way. We help them establish a plan to build an independent productive life and to end the cycle of homelessness.

Description

Capital Interfaith Hospitality Network (CIHN) is a coalition of faith-based and community organizations that provide shelter for homeless families in Washington, DC. CIHN utilizes donated space and volunteers to support families as they transition to an independent life. Families arrive at our shelters each night, eat dinner and socialize or do homework or chores before going to bed. In the morning, families go to a day center. From the day center, families can take their children to childcare or school, receive case management services, and/or go to education classes, job training or work. CIHN helps provide comprehensive case management services for all families in our program.
