GOOD SAMARITAN HAVEN

Description

Good Samaritan Haven is central Vermont’s only homeless shelter, providing emergency housing and services for more than 300 individuals each year. Our programs include emergency and transitional housing, essential goods and food services, street outreach, and peer support. Everyone is welcomed and there is no charge for any services. We help our Guests secure income, employment, and affordable housing, and connect them with other local agencies and resources.

We have Co-Directors and a small staff, as well as a volunteer board of directors. Volunteers provide 95% of shelter staffing, from Overnight Volunteers who supervise the shelter each night, to cooks who provide dinner each night, to our volunteer board.

With so many ways to get involved, it is easy to be a "Good Samaritan" in Central Vermont.
