Mission Statement

Helping Ease Life's Poverty Inc. (H.E.L.P.) exists to provide a 10-14 day supply of groceries each month as well as other emergency services to low and no income families in Pike County.
Other services include home food delivery for elderly or disabled homebound individuals, emergency food box program for those in emergency situations who have an immediate need for food, free clothing each month for low or no income families, an air conditioner and heater loaner program for the low income elderly or disabled whose lives are adversely affected by the seasons, emergency minor home repairs where the need is due to unsafe or unsanitary conditions and providing handicapped accessible wheelchair ramps.

Description

Through direct financial contributions, grants and monies from a local Thrift Store, HELP meets the needs of the community by offering a supplemental food supply each month that is delivered to the elderly homebound and can be picked up by those able to do so. We also keep on hand emergency food boxes. HELP donates household items to victims of fire and natural disaster and attempts to help those coming from the local homeless shelter with household items when they are ready for a home of their own. We currently provide the materials needed to build a handicapped ramp to those who apply and are qualified. We would like to build it for them but are prevented due to lack of labor force. We have minor home repair projects pending awaiting a labor force.
