Mission Statement

Cancer Care, Inc. was founded in 1944 on the principle that"Living does not end when cancer begins." Cancer Care provides to patients and their loved ones crisis intervention, information and referral, one-to-one counseling, support groups, financial assistance for treatment-related expenses, and educational programs. All services are free of charge and the organization receives no government funding.

Description

Face-to-face services are provided through its 12 offices inNew York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Nationwide servicesare offered through a toll-free counseling line and electronically via the Internet. Cancer Care offered service to 42,818 clients through thecombined programs of Clinical Counseling, Community Education, and Worksite Counseling and Consultation. Anadditional 8,172 individuals were served through the Professional Education Program. 10,010 clients received short-term, immediate service through telephone counseling services or Community Education teleconference workshops.
